About me

Originally from New Zealand. I’ve lived and worked in the UK for over 25 years and now and call Brighton home. I’m a parent to a teenage son and spent a number of years working in hospitality and sales before following my path into counselling which began in 2005.

I'm committed to supporting people through challenges as a trusted, collaborative therapy partner.

Whether you're navigating difficult emotions, relationship issues, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to help you make sense of things and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Path to practice

BSc (Hons) qualified and insured Counsellor, and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) with over 15 years experience. I practice in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I originally trained in the humanistic Person-Centred tradition, which prioritises the individual's needs, preferences, and values in care and decision-making.

I have a number of years experience in specialist agencies—with training undertaken by leaders in the field, providing:

Compassionate and sensitive trauma support with survivors of unwanted sexual experiences.

Structured recovery work for those struggling with problematic drug and alcohol use.

To ensure my practice remains current, responsive, and effective, and so clients can benefit as much as possible from the sessions. I continue an upkeep of certified continuous professional development (CPD) training through workshops, online, and publications, and attend supervision relevant to my client caseload.

Flexible, adaptive

Having worked across a range of settings—including specialist agencies, cooperatives, and private practice.

My work with clients, supervision, and further training have all better informed how I practice, and helped me develop a more wholly flexible and adaptive way of working in supporting individuals through a wide variety of challenges.

I structure the work within an inclusive, integrative perspective, deeply rooted in humanistic values which has collaboration at its heart, and a strong emphasises on client–therapist dialogue on the 'goals', or 'aims', 'hopes', 'wants' of the therapy—believing that there is no one fixed or absolute truth; embracing a 'both/and' philosophy rather than 'either/or', with a view that there is more than one way to look at things, more than one way to solve a problem...
